Myanmar Copyright Law 2019
Myanmar’s Copyright Law of 2019 aims to protect the rights of creators over their original works in literature, art, music, film, and software. The law grants authors exclusive rights to reproduce, distribute, and display their works. It covers both published and unpublished works and ensures protection for the creator’s lifetime plus 50 years after their death. The law also includes provisions for fair use, allowing limited use of copyrighted material for education and research. By modernizing its copyright system, Myanmar aims to encourage creativity, support the arts, and align with international intellectual property standards.
